Digital PR

Earning coverage and links from authoritative publications through newsworthy content, original research, and journalist relationships.

Digital PR is the discipline of earning editorial coverage, brand mentions, and links from authoritative publications, the modern, link-and-entity-aware evolution of public relations. It is the most durable way to build the off-page signals that matter in 2026: high-authority backlinks, brand mentions that feed entity recognition, and the kind of independent coverage that establishes notability for Wikipedia and the knowledge graph.

The tactics that work are content-led. Original research and data studies give journalists something to cite and other sites something to link. Reactive sourcing through services like Featured.com and Qwoted (the replacements for the retired HARO) puts named experts into journalists' stories. Genuinely newsworthy launches, surveys, and commentary earn coverage in the trade and mainstream press. The common thread is that you are creating something worth covering, not pitching a link.

Digital PR is also where brand and SEO converge with AI visibility. Coverage in the publications AI engines trust feeds the citation oligarchy; brand mentions, even without links, are an implied-link signal Google has acknowledged using; and independent coverage is the raw material for entity recognition. The competitor we benchmark against is notably absent from the major SEO publications, a gap a focused digital-PR program can exploit. We frame off-page recommendations around earning coverage, not manufacturing links.
