What we check
- LocalBusiness schema with required fields: name, address, telephone, openingHours, areaServed.
- NAP consistency (name, address, phone) across the homepage, contact page, footer and schema.
- GeoCoordinates markup on locations pages.
- Locations page presence for multi-location businesses with a unique URL per location.
- Opening hours and contact methods in machine-readable form.
- Service area and price range when relevant.
- City/neighborhood pages for service-area businesses.
- Local AI Overview readiness: passage-shaped answers to "near me" and "X in [city]" intent.
Why on-page local matters more than the GBP listing in 2026
Your Google Business Profile is necessary but no longer sufficient. AI Overviews answering "best plumber in Austin" synthesize from your website's on-page schema, review aggregator pages, and Reddit threads - the GBP listing is one input among several. If your LocalBusiness schema is missing or your locations pages don't exist, you're invisible to the layer that increasingly answers local-intent queries.
What you get
A scored local SEO report covering all the above, plus the cross-cutting findings from the full audit (Core Web Vitals, page speed, schema, mobile usability). One free audit gives you both the local view and the site-wide view.
Multi-location checklist
If you have more than three locations, the audit specifically checks for: a unique URL per location, unique title and meta per location, LocalBusiness schema with PostalAddress on each, a clear /locations index page, breadcrumb schema, and consistent NAP across all of them. Common failure: cloned location pages with only the city name swapped - we'll catch that.
The 7-point local-readiness checklist
- Ship LocalBusiness JSON-LD on the homepage and every locations page.
- Make NAP byte-identical across footer, contact page, and schema.
- Add GeoCoordinates (lat/lng) to every location.
- Write a unique paragraph per location — not a templated swap.
- Mirror Google reviews onto the page with Review schema where you legitimately have them.
- Answer "near me" intent in the first 200 words of every locations page.
- Cross-check that Apple Maps Business Connect and Bing Places list the same hours.
